We pray to you, Lord, for the community of believers: may it be the "salt of the earth" and the "light of the world", to reawaken the desire for you, written in the heart of every man and every woman.
In the Gospel the best expression of what a heart thinks are the two passages of St. Luke, which tell us that Mary "guarded (synethere) all these things, meditating on them (symballoususa) in his heart." The verb symballein means: to ponder, to bring two things together in the mind and examine oneself, to reflect, to dialogue with oneself; I would diet means “she carefully preserved”, and what she preserved was not only the “scene” she saw, but also what she did not yet understand and yet remained present and alive, waiting to put everything together in her heart

Let us pray that our communities may discover the beauty of true communion, made of authentic sharing of broken bread, and work together to build full and lasting peace in the world.
"A great rebirth of faith is needed, and new and humble disciples of Christ must emerge from the heart of the Church, souls vibrant with faith, porters of God, sowers of faith! And it must be a faith applied to life. It takes a spirit of faith, ardor of faith, impetus of faith;
faith of love, charity of faith,
sacrifice of faith!
Saint Luigi Orione

Afterward he went to a city called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd accompanied him. When he drew near to the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” And he came and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. Then he said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” The dead man sat up and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother. Fear came over them all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us, and God has visited his people.”
Luke 7, 11-16
