So far, 26.701 migrants have landed on the coasts since the beginning of the year. In the same period, last year there were 70.106 while in 2022 there were 30.862. The data was released by the Ministry of the Interior, considering the landings detected by 8 this morning.
In the last few days, 499 people (240 on Saturday, 224 yesterday and 35 today) were registered arriving on our coasts, which brought the total number of people arriving by sea to Italy in July to 686. Last year, in the whole month, there were 23.480, while in 2022 there were 13.802.
Of the 27 thousand migrants landed in Italy in 2024, 5.728 are Bangladeshi nationals (21%), based on what was declared at the time of disembarkation; the others come from Syria (3.920, 15%), Tunisia (3.311, 12%), Guinea (2.027, 8%), Egypt (1.756, 7%), Pakistan (1.051, 4%), Sudan (908, 3% ), Gambia (897%), Mali (3%), Ivory Coast (877%) to which are added 3 people (701%) coming from other states or for whom it is still ongoing the identification procedure.
To date, 3.481 unaccompanied foreign minors have reached our country by sea. The data is updated as of today, July 8th. The unaccompanied foreign minors landed on Italian coasts throughout 2023 were 18.820, 14.044 in 2022, 10.053 in 2021, 4.687 in 2020, 1.680 in 2019, 3.536 in 2018 and 15.779 in 2017.
