With the beginning of Advent the new Missal comes into use in many parishes. The news is quite significant.

The most publicized one concerns the Our Father: from now on instead of saying "lead us not into temptation" we will say: "do not abandon ourselves to temptation".
Pope Francis explained well that in this way we think of our Lord not as the one who puts us in difficulty but the one who helps us get up. Always in the Our Father an "also" is added after the "as": "forgive us our debts as we (also) forgive our debtors". Affirmation that pushes us to commit ourselves and behave as God does with us and with those who owe us something. The Gloria is also retouched when one recites "peace on earth to men, loved by the Lord".

It can be understood that these innovations required a long period of study and research to be more faithful to the language in which the prayers were composed and to be better understood.

The Missal will be mandatory from Easter, April 4, 2021.
