A study by the "Centro Studi Cosmetica Italia" finds that the turnover of national companies in the cosmetics sector at the end of 2018 was over eleven million euros, which was expected to expand the following year. While not wanting to appear moralistic, we can ask ourselves whether this belongs to the necessary care of the body or instead reveals excessive or pathological attention. From the reports it appears that this is not just the prerogative of the female world, but also affects the male world: such is the persuasive power of advertising above all.

The liturgy, celebrated with faith and not just out of devotion or habit, bites into life and illuminates it with the colors of the rainbow and envelops us in an affectionate embrace that makes the essential values of human life pulsate in the hearts of believers. An iris colored by the nostalgia of a dreamed and hoped for happiness is grafted like an embryo on the day of baptism.

There is no need here to discuss the importance of this work of charity, highly recommended by Jesus himself, practiced in every age by the Church and recommended by all the main religions. Let's stop at the problem: should we give charity to these "homeless" people? Who really are “the poor”? Only the homeless people we meet on the street?
