Benedetto Pietrogrande's ascent to heaven

Dear Don Mario,

on behalf of myself and my entire family I would like to thank you for your message and for the precious gift of "Perpetual Suffrage".

I had the privilege of collaborating with my father in several artistic endeavors and assisting him in his illness. I had the strong but sublime experience of accompanying him in his last hours together with my sisters, hand in hand, understanding the importance of the "transit"...

He passed away with the same sweetness that characterized his life and that endeared him to many people. At the funeral in the church of San Marco, the same one where my parents were married almost 60 years ago, there was a crowd of admirers of his art but above all of sincere friends. If I think of my father, serenity and gratitude far outweigh the melancholy for his absence. Here are the words with which one of his nieces greeted him:

«...you did not leave us until the moment we were unable to accept your departure. You were altruistic in this too, you accompanied us to the end.

Life has given you a great talent, an extraordinary intelligence and the kindness of a saint and God can only have welcomed you into Heaven. Anyone who knows you knows it."

Lorenzo Pietrogrande

Equally dear Lorenzo and esteemed family members, in the previous issue of the magazine, we recalled the passage to eternal life of Benedetto Pietrogrande, your family member and "our" artist, who decorated the portal of our Basilica, dedicated to the Transit, with his work of Saint Joseph.

Not only did he leave the legacy of his faith as a legacy to you family members; but also to us, as well as in many nations where he left the reflection of his faith, immortalized in his artistic work.

We assure you to cultivate his esteemed memory also to stay close to us, he to us and we to him, with our prayers.

I'll bene of a house

Rev Don Mario,

for many years I have subscribed to your magazine, which I discovered thanks to my dear mother, who was a faithful reader.

I read very willingly and benefit from reading his editorials, I often keep some articles from which I gain many spiritual teachings and insights on Saint Joseph! […]

I feel the desire to write to you to confide in you another grace I have just received from Saint Joseph. I entrusted to Him the search for a house which, for two/three years, had been weighing down the life of my son and his wife. They live abroad, they were looking for a larger apartment in the area, a difficult search for many reasons. I placed this "research" under the protection of the mantle of Saint Joseph and reminded him of it every day. During the Novena I naturally prayed more for this grace; on March 19th I had the joy of participating in the Holy Mass in the Archbishop's Sanctuary of Saint Joseph here in Milan in via Verdi - whose existence I discovered thanks to a report published on the Holy Crusade! -and while I was returning home, my son's message arrived that the owners had accepted his offer and could proceed with the purchase! All with incredible timing, given that the second baby will be born in September and therefore there is a real need for more space!

Thanks again to you and your collaborators for all the good you do and best wishes for a Happy Easter!

Signed letter, Milan

Dear and esteemed Madam,

respect her desire for anonymity, feel the desire to thank with her the One who was given custody of her son, Emmanuel, by the Creator himself, to provide for all his educational and material needs.

The house is a precious asset, it is the space like a gym to train ourselves daily to live our lives with dignity, weaving a luminous network of physical and spiritual well-being.

Parents are always projected into the future, dreaming and praying for their children who will be able to find the source of good work and thus live and enjoy the evangelical beatitudes.
