Dearest, I invite you to the most important event for the Parish Community but also for you, devotees of St. Joseph, the feast of March 19th.

For us it is much more than a tradition; it is the moment in which we strongly feel the presence of Saint Joseph and our love for him. This Jubilee Year we will have the gift, from March 16 to 19, of venerating in our Basilica the Relics of the Mantle of Saint Joseph and the Veil of Our Lady and in this way we will feel closer to our Saint. But you will also be closer to us, by participating in the celebrations, thanks to the live television broadcasts of the Holy Masses broadcast by TV 2000. Together we will look at Saint Joseph, and we will retrace his path, which was nothing other than obedience to God's plan, in taking with him  Jesus and Mary his mother. I wish you a beautiful experience of faith and Christian joy, accompanied by Saint Joseph our patron, whom we pray.

The pastor

Don Tommaso Gigliola

PLENARY INDULGENCE

Pope Saint Paul VI, with the Decree of the Sacred Apostolic Penitentiary of September 20, 1968, established that on the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, March 19, the Associates of the Pious Union of the Transitus of Saint Joseph can obtain a Plenary Indulgence. The conditions for gaining this grace are those established by the Church:

- Sacramental confession,

- Eucharistic Communion,

- prayer according to the intentions of the Holy Father Francis,

- soul detached from any sin, even venial.

To these general conditions is added the one proper to the Pious Union: to renew the promise to pray to Saint Joseph every day for the dying. Together with prayer, some work of mercy or almsgiving in support of the poor is also recommended.

Who can visit the Basilica of San Giuseppe al Trionfale in Rome on March 19 and participate in the Holy Mass and the solemn afternoon Procession, do not fail to also visit the Pious Union in its offices, located to the left of the Basilica itself. If instead you visit another church dedicated to the holy Patriarch or venerate his image, recite with fervor the prayer left to us by San Luigi Guanella: "O San Giuseppe, foster father of Jesus Christ and true husband of the Virgin Mary, pray for us and for those dying this day (or this night)". Finally, join spiritually in the Holy Mass at 19,00:XNUMX p.m., celebrated by the Director of the Pious Union in the Basilica of San Giuseppe for all the living and deceased Associates.

By concession of HE Rev. Card. Baldo Reina, Vicar General of His Holiness, from March 16 to 19, the reliquary of the Mantle of Saint Joseph and the Veil of the Virgin Mary, kept in the Basilica of Saint Anastasia on the Palatine, will remain on display in our Basilica. According to an ancient tradition, these two relics were brought to Rome from Palestine by Saint Jerome.

TV2000, the television channel of the Italian Bishops, will broadcast the Holy Mass from the Basilica of San Giuseppe al Trionfale in the month of March. On weekdays there will be a single celebration, at 19.00:8.30 p.m., while on Sundays there will be three celebrations at 10.00:19.00 a.m., 28:157 a.m. and 18:XNUMX p.m. It is an excellent opportunity to participate in the Mass during the month of San Giuseppe. The connection is on CHANNEL XNUMX; SKY XNUMX; TIVUSAT XNUMX.

In this Jubilee Year, the reliquary of the Mantle of Saint Joseph and the Veil of the Virgin Mary will be exhibited in the Basilica from March 16 to 19, by concession of HE Rev.ma Cardinal Baldo Reina. The Eucharistic celebrations starting from March 9 will be broadcast live by TV2000. Plenary indulgence for March 19
