So far, 26.927 migrants have landed on the coasts since the beginning of the year. In the same period, last year there were 6.543 while in 2021 there were 6.334. The data was released by the Ministry of the Interior, considering the landings detected by 8 this morning.
In the last few days there were 6.564 people registered arriving on our coasts (491 Thursday, 2.814 Friday, 2.007 Saturday, 752 yesterday and 500 today), which brought the total number of people arriving by sea to Italy since the beginning of the month to 12.500. Last year, in all of March, there were 1.358, while in 2021 there were 2.395.
Of the approximately 27 thousand migrants who landed in Italy in 2023, 3.660 are of Ivorian nationality (14%), based on what was declared at the time of disembarkation; the others come from Guinea (3.177, 12%), Pakistan (1.986, 7%), Bangladesh (1.896, 7%), Tunisia (1.771, 7%), Egypt (1.195, 4%), Cameroon (1.050, 4% ), Mali (770%), Gambia (3%), Burkina Faso (680%) to which are added 3 people (654%) coming from other states or for whom the procedure is still underway of identification.
To date, 2.641 unaccompanied foreign minors have reached our country by sea. The data is updated as of today, March 27. The unaccompanied foreign minors landed on Italian coasts throughout 2022 were 13.386, 10.053 in 2021, 4.687 in 2020, 1.680 in 2019, 3.536 in 2018 and 15.779 in 2017.
