On this theme, Pope Francis will preside over the recitation of the Rosary next Saturday XNUMX May, joining the Sanctuaries of the world which due to the health emergency have had to interrupt their normal activities and pilgrimages.

Live and broadcast worldwide from the Lourdes Grotto in the Vatican Gardens, at 17 pm, the Pope will therefore once again be close to humanity in prayer, to ask the Virgin for help and assistance in the pandemic. 

The initiative promoted by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of New Evangelization will see the involvement of families and men and women representatives of the sectors most involved and particularly affected by the pandemic, to whom the tens of the Rosary will be entrusted. Therefore, doctors and nurses, recovered patients and patients who have suffered bereavements, a hospital chaplain and a nurse nun, a pharmacist and a journalist, and finally a Civil Protection volunteer with his family members and also a family who saw the birth of a child precisely in the most difficult moments, to express the hope that must never fail.

At the feet of Mary at the end of the month dedicated to her and certain that the heavenly Mother will not fail to help, communicates the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization, Francis will therefore place the worries and sorrows of humanity. 

In connection there will be the largest Sanctuaries from the five continents including Lourdes, Fatima, Lujan, Milagro, Guadalupe, San Giovanni Rotondo and Pompeii. In a letter, Monsignor Rino Fisichella, president of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of New Evangelization, addressed the rectors of the Sanctuaries directly to invite them to organize and promote this special moment of prayer compatibly with the current health rules in force and with the time zone of place.
